Det blir alltid värre framåt natten was the Swedish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 in Paris performed by Björn Skifs.
Björn Skifs felt that the song would not have a shot at winning, and intended to cause controversy by singing in English, which could make him disqualified. However, as he was about to enter stage he had second thoughts, and felt bad towards Peter Himmelstrand, the song writer, and decided to sing it straight. Then again, as the music started, he wanted to sing in English. Skifs described it as a momentary deadlock, and so the song started with abject nonsense-words, before Skifs recovered and continued in Swedish. Fortunately only Swedes knew that the lyrics were wrong.
It was performed last on the night following Austria. At the close of voting, it finished in 14th place with 26 points.
