Danijela Martinovic, sometimes known as Danijela, is a Croatian pop singer.
Born in Split, she and her sister Izabela pursued music since they were young. In 1991, Danijela got her breakthrough through joining the popular band Magazin as a lead singer. With her at the helm, Magazin released three studio albums, and participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 with the song Nostalgija, featuring the opera artist Lidija. It placed 6th overall.
In 1996, Danijela left Magazin and started a solo career. releasing her debut album, Zovem te ja. Two years later, she collaborated with Magazin member Tonči Huljić, which resulted in the song Neka mi ne svane. That song won Dora 98, which allowed Danijela to represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 1998. Featuring a performance in which Danijela stripped away a black cloak to reveal a white ballgown, it placed 5th overall.
That same year, she released her second album, To malo ljubavi, which was a major success in the Balkans, and got her many rewards. Her next two albums, released in 1999 and 2001, also sold well.
In December 2010 she released a new song called "Pola Pola". In 2011 she released her new album Unikat. She presented a new song called "Brodolom" or "Shipwreck" at the Croatian music festival SPLIT 2012, which became the biggest summer hit in Croatia.
