Blue Café are a Polish musical group with jazz, soul and Latin influences, performing pop music.
They are a well-known band in Poland, although their popularity went down a bit when their lead singer Tatiana Okupnik (known for her distinct vocals) left the group.
About[]
The group was founded when Rurak-Sokal invited Okupnik to form a band in 1998. Although not successful for 4 years, the band released a song "Kochamy siebie" which became a Polish hit, catching the attention of critics and people. The group then received the Fryderyk Award for "New Face of Phonography".
In 2003 they submitted a song to the Polish national final, called "You May Be In Love", reaching third place in the superfinal, finishing after Wilki and winners Ich Troje. Only a year later they won the national final, getting the ticket to represent Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004.
Thanks to the top ten place of Ich Troje during the competition in 2003, Blue Café was assured of a place in the final of the next show. Love Song placed 17th overall with 27 points. Not long after, Tatiana Okupnik left the group and Dominika Gawęda took her place.
In 2019, they were the jurors in Szansa na Sukces, which picked the Polish representative for Junior Eurovision. 3 years later, they were guests in TBSE, the Polish national final which picked Ochman as the representative in 2022.
