Blanka Stajkow, known professionally by her first name, is a Polish singer, model and influencer. She is best known for representing Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool with the song Solo, finishing in 19th place.

About[]

Blanka was born in Szczecin to a Polish mother who works as a model and a Bulgarian father who is a wealthy businessman.

In 2021, she participated in Top Model, a Polish reality television show. While on the show, she released her first official single, "Better". The following year, she signed a contract with Warner Music Poland and released her second single, Solo, with which she would later represent Poland.

She won the second edition of TBSE and represented her home country at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool with the song Solo, qualifying from the second semi final at 3rd place with 124 points. In the final, she finished in 19th place with 93 points, with most of her points from televoters, who placed her 8th overall.

Her win in TBSE was sparked with much controversy, at a scale never seen before in the Polish selections. Accusations were made against TVP and the jury of alleged deals with her, as she has been heavily promoted by the broadcaster beforehand. It was alleged that Blanka and the son of Edyta Górniak (chairman of the jury), knew each other personally.

In addition, there was a petition made by Polish Eurofans, that wanted Blanka to withdraw in favor of fan-favorite 2nd placer Jann. It had 87 thousand signatures.
