Be Happy, otherwise known in studio format as Sameyach, was the Israeli entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 in Stockholm performed by PingPong.
On the night, it was performed first preceding the Netherlands. At the close of voting, it finished in 22nd place with 7 points (six of which came from the French televote). Despite the bad result, Israel was allowed to compete in the 2001 contest.
Lyrics[]
Kol hayom ani yoshevet bakibuts

Ani rotsa, ani rotsa melafefon
Oh... sameach
Oh... sameach
Oh... oh... sameach
Oh... oh... sameach

Ze lo chochma le'ehov rak ksheyesh lecha cheshek
Ani rotsa la'asot et ze ito kol hayom
Oh... sameach
Oh... sameach
Oh... oh... sameach
All day long I sit in the kibbutz
In my hand a cigar and it feels a little sour
All the time only depression and boredom
If I don't come, it will end with a bang
Oh... happy
Oh... happy
Oh... happy
Oh... happy
All day long wars on television
And in Australia there are floods again
Here comes the Sunday depression
I want, I want a cucumber
And now I have a new boyfriend from Damascus
When I'm sad, he sends me a red rose
It's not smart to love only when you feel like it
I want to do it with him all day long
Oh... happy
Oh... happy
Oh... happy

Trivia[]
- The song was initially sung entirely in Hebrew (Sameach), but the band chose to sing the title in English (Be Happy) at the last minute before the live performance.
- Israeli and Syrian flags caused controversy when they were waved on stage.
- At one point, the IBA disassociated itself from the performance, resulting in the delegation having to pay for everything.
