Ari Ólafsson is an Icelandic singer and actor. He grew up in Reykjavik, but lived in Florida for a time when he was young. At age 11, he got the lead role in an Icelandic production of the musical Oliver!, directed by 2-time Eurovision participant Selma. In 2011, he caught the attention of Norwegian star Sissel (the 1986 interval act performer) and invited him to perform with her at several concerts.
In 2015, he competed in The Voice of Iceland but was eliminated in the battle rounds and was one of the backing singers for the 2017 Söngvakeppnin selection.
Ari represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon with the song Our Choice, finishing in last place in the first semifinal.
