Alice Babs (born Hildur Alice Nilson) was a Swedish singer and actress. She came to prominence in the 1940 film "Swing it magistern" ("Swing it, Teacher!") before going on to appear in more than a dozen Swedish movies.

In 1958, she became her country's debut performer in the Contest in The Netherlands, finishing in 4th place. The same year saw here form a group called "Swe-Danes" with guitarist Ulrik Neumann and violinist Svend Asmussen. They remained together until their split in 1965.

During the 1960s she also began collaborating with Duke Ellington and whenever she was unable to sing his songs he would use three different singers.

She died of complications from Alzheimer's disease at age 90 on 11 February 2014 in Stockholm.
