Aksel Kankaanranta is a Finnish singer. He is best known for his participation in the seventh series of The Voice of Finland in 2017, where he finished in second place. A year later, he was featured on rapper Pyhimyksen's single “Jättiläinen” (Giant) which won 2 Emma Awards in 2019.
He was set to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam with the song Looking Back, before the contest was proclaimed "cancelled" due to the COVID-19 crisis. He was not given a guaranteed place at UMK 2021, but he announced that he would try again. He participated in UMK 2021 with the song "Hurt", finishing in 5th place.
He was chosen to present the Finnish votes during the 2022 contest in Turin.
