Şebnem Paker Odabaş is a Turkish singer, musician and teacher. She studied classical guitar and voice in university.
She represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest in consecutive years. Her first appearance was at the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 in Oslo with the song Beşinci Mevsim. It qualified from the audio-only pre-qualifier in 7th place and went on to place 12th in the final.
Her second attempt was her most successful one. Teaming up with Grup Etnic, she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 in Dublin with the song Dinle. It finished in 3rd place, which was Turkey's best result until Sertab Erener won six years later.
She currently teaches at a high school in Istanbul and co-authored a textbook that is still being used today in Turkish art schools.
