Çetin Alp was a Turkish pop music singer who, together with his backing band The Short Waves, represented Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 in Munich with the song Opera, which finished in joint last place with the dreaded Nul Points.
He died three days after the 2004 final, in the host city, Istanbul.
